EVA - Ethylene-vinyl acetate

Copolymerization is used to improve the physical and chemical properties of the polymer material, as well as to significantly facilitate its processing. As a rule, this process is subjected to ethylene with other monomers. And one of the most common ethylene copolymers is ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). It is a material characterized by a low mass and high elasticity, which also has excellent damping characteristics. In contrast to polyethylene, it has higher coefficients of light transmittance and elasticity, it is also characterized by increased coupling with other materials. In addition, EVA, obtained from granulate, has high flexibility and impact resistance, as well as a wide range of operating temperatures for use - from -85 °C to + 65 °C. High heat resistance, mechanical stability, elasticity and hardness are all indicators of ethylene-vinyl acetate.

Application of EVA

Polymeric granules of ethylene-vinyl acetate serve as a raw material for materials widely used for industrial production. Technical and operational parameters of the EVA made it possible to use it as:

• Packaging materials, including for food;
• Pallet film;
• Coatings of various materials;
• Electrical appliances;
• Adhesion materials;
• Soles for shoes;
• Foam plastic;
• Covers, seals and gaskets.

In addition, EVA has found wide application in the production of dispersion dye compositions as a film educator. The dried aqueous dispersion of the polymer is used to make dry construction mixtures. They are also used for the manufacture of electrical insulation for cables, the protection of metal products, the packaging of liquid products and containers for cosmetics.
