Overview
The T40 Rattler™ is a low-cost, maintenance-free single gas monitor designed to protect personnel from dangerous hydrogen sulfide or carbon monoxide gas exposure in the most extreme conditions. Despite its compact size, T40 Rattler includes features usually found only in larger multi-gas monitors including a large, liquid crystal display (LCD), internal vibrating alarm, audible/visual alarms and simple push-button operation.
The monitor continuously displays ambient carbon monoxide or hydrogen sulfide readings in PPM and will alert the user when gas concentrations exceed the preset low or high levels. Added features include adjustable alarm setpoints, calibration gas values, and choice of text-only display selected by the user through a simple, push-button routine. The T40 Rattler also has a peak/hold feature to show the highest reading during a shift and includes a patented flip-cap calibration adapter for quick and simple calibration. The T40 Rattler operates for up to 1,500 hours on a single "AA" battery (included) and is covered by a two-year warranty from the date of manufacture.
Features and Benefits
Feature |
Benefit |
2-year warranty |
Lowers the overall cost of ownership by providing a full 24 months of warranty coverage. |
Internal vibrating alarm |
Alerts the user of rising gas concentrations in high noise or light areas. Provided as standard equipment. |
Replaceable "AA" alkaline battery |
Commonly available and inexpensive battery power. |
Weight of 3.5 ounces (99.2g) |
Light weight and compact size, can be worn on the belt, shirt pocket, coveralls or hard-hat. |
Flip-cap calibration feature |
The T40 Rattler has a unique, built in calibration adapter to make calibration easy and eliminates the need to search for a calibration cup. |
ATEX, UL, cUL, AUS approvals |
The T40 Rattler is the most "approved" single gas monitor available, verifying the unit's design integrity and suitability for worldwide use. |
Peak/hold feature |
Allows the user to log the maximum exposure for either CO or H2S since the peak readings were last reset. |
LCD readout |
Provides continuous display of the actual concentration in PPM of CO or H2S in the ambient environment as well as remaining battery life. |
Hardhat attachment built into the clip |
Gets the T40 into the breathing zone by allowing the user to clip the unit into the slot on the side of the hardhat. All alarm indicators are easily interpreted due to the close proximity to the ears and eyes. |
RFI (radio frequency interference) |
Eliminates "nuisance" alarms caused by cross interference from hand held radios, cell phones, etc. |
Adjustable low and high alarm setpoints |
The user can configure the T40 Rattler to suit a number of different applications. |
High visibility case |
From a distance, T40's color makes it easy for Safety Professionals to verify that workers are protected. |
5 second delay shut-off protection |
The T40 Rattler cannot be accidentally shut off since the on/off button must be depressed for five continuous seconds. |
