There are two parameters defining mechanical properties of a tile: hardness of the top layer of a tile (glaze) and resistance to a bend. If the buyer is guided by these two indicators which are always specified on a ceramic tile, then in his kitchen the tiled covering can serve belief and the truth not one decade. So, according to requirements of the European classifications, the ceramic tile is subdivided into five classes of hardness of the top layer. For kitchen experts advise to use a tile III and IV classes.

For walls of kitchen the tile of lower class of durability is, as a rule, recommended. In such tile there are more time, and it is much easier than the floor analog. However thermal firmness of any tile for kitchen has to be not less than 125C. Otherwise in a tile there can be small cracks that will lead sooner or later to its destruction.
