Turbocompressors

The main unit consisting of the centrifugal or axial compressor and the gas turbine for its drive installed on one shaft is called a turbocompressor. A basic purpose of a turbocompressor is increases of pressure of a working body of the gas-turbine engine due to its forcing by the compressor which receives power from the turbine. The turbocompressor in total with the combustion chamber located between the turbine and the compressor is called a gas generator. The turbocompressor of low pressure of a turbojet (TRDD) consisting of the compressor of the low pressure (fan) and the turbine is called sometimes a turbofan.
